REFERENCES
Our cooperation started years ago. At that time, we were in the early days of employing people with disabilities. Thanks to the workshops, consultations and sharing best practices, we not only got to know the world of these people, their needs and expectations, but our employees are also prepared to cooperate better and accept this group of people in their teams. Today, more new colleagues with disabilities are joining us at IKEA, we have established processes for recruiting workers with disabilities.

The workshop helped us realize two key things. Firstly, that where there's a will there's a way, even if it doesn't seem that way at the beginning, and secondly, that in a corporate environment, the path will probably be bumpier and more winding than our pure souls can see :) But if we go for it with the right partner, you can handle it!

The truth is that the workshops and consultations with Borůvka opened our eyes a lot and helped us see behind the curtain of physical disability and how it is reflected in everyday life. How should it be approached in the working world, what limits does it have and what, on the contrary, it may not have. That is why I can warmly recommend this cooperation to all companies - try it and see for yourself.

OUR STORY
Ondra Nečas
Andrea Šváchová
Lucy Kroftová
In 2019, the project that you recognize today under the name "it works guide" was created. Its original name was "Applicable", and from the very beginning it was aimed at solving a specific problem in the field of human resources. Our primary aim was to eliminate the concerns of companies in employing people with disabilities while supporting these individuals to maximize their employability.
What united us was not only professional passion. It was a deep human understanding and desire to create a place where different worlds can meet and understand each other. Imagine an environment where everyone can see into each other's lives and understand their challenges as well as their talents. In our programs, we try to convey and share this connection with HR professionals, managers and entire diverse teams, because we believe that together we can create an inclusive work environment for everyone.
Andrea Šváchová - The head and heart of the project. For the last 16 years, in the environment of TA KAVÁRNA, she has been engaged in the work training of people with various physical and mental limitations, preparing them for working life and subsequently accompanying them through it. She helps to reduce barriers, especially in the minds of "healthy" and also disabled people, and to connect these often separate worlds.
Lucy Kroftová - A manager with experience in finance, operational and crisis management, with a belief in the unique value, potential and dignity of people. She is currently on maternity leave, which gives her the space and opportunity to focus on what gives her ultimate meaning, like this project.
Ondra Nečas - Facilitator and father of the School of Improvisation, which connects applied improvization, rich experience from company workshops and creating a safe environment so that everyone feels good in it and can develop both their skills and build mutual relationships.
